Just recently bought a 35gallons aquarium and matching stand, but it bothers me how the weld looks. I don't have any knowledge about welding but this doesn't look right.
Can I trust this stand not to fail and left me with broken glass everywhere and flooded room?

It doesn’t look great to me. If you post this in the welding sub, they have some really informative folks.
It’s hard to say..it’s holding up so far but down the road may be a different story. If there isn’t any additional bracing on the legs this stand is destined for failure.
You could always build a wood frame stand Lowe’s sells a kit for building your own work bench that includes all of the metal bracing to create a very sturdy stand.
All of the wood used was reclaimed privacy fence panels
