We just got Sully here after having this 10 gallon community tank for a couple months (oto’s, snails, and a few Pinocchio shrimp). Yes, his fins are pretty damaged. Apparently, he got bullied by some tetras in a community tank at the LFS we bought him from. He’s very energetic, social, and accepting of food, and his fins seem to be regrowing great with daily treatment of Stress Guard. No Kanaplex or anything else has been used. We have all live plants and real driftwood with BioStratum with a sand cap as the substrate.
Question though: is there any more we need to do to keep his fins growing back healthily and staying that way? This isn’t our first betta, and I test water weekly (also have a 24/7 WiFi probe thing that monitors temp/pH/EC/TDS/SG) and do weekly/every other week water changes.
Also, we currently feed a food I saw recommended in a forum (forgot the name of the forum) called OmegaOne Color Mini Pellets. Is this food good to feed on an ongoing daily basis? What other foods would be good to supplement with other than frozen foods? We dont live close to anywhere that carries frozen fish food, so either something like liquid fish food cubes on Amazon, or a freeze dried alternative.
Since they seem to be growing back with the current parameters and treatment, just leave it at that? Any tips to help them regrow. Thanks
