Been wanting to get a trolling motor for my yak any advice for a texas resident
I have a orange 11ft preception odyssey and I bought it on fb marketplace..now my question is how would I register my yak and how much wohld it cost ?

I wouldnt motorize that kayak. But if you really wanna try you want an extra light setup. Bixpy basic setup with their universal kayak mount could work. It is gonna be weird and a bit unstable but if you keep a low speed should be fine. Bixpy basic setup is under 10lbs for the battery+motor.
You oculd install a mount on the stern as well itd be mich better but require more work. You have the hatch so you have access to build something sturdy.
An nk180 pro with a small 20ah 24V battery could work as well but require more work to install.
In terms of registration it shouldnt cost much. Here in CA it is about $20 a year.

I also have a pointed stern on my Tamarack 10′. I had to fabricate some struts to mount my Newport transom. It’s been 3 years with no adjustments or problems noted. Pic to follow…

Tbh… I wouldn’t invest the time or energy tho. Get yourself a Sit On Top Yak…. way more versatile!
