Hi! A family relative gifted us a kuhli loach. I haven’t named him/her yet, but right now (he/she) is just living off the rocks, and I don’t want that. Do you have any idea what kind of sand I should set up in my tank? (He/She) is living with 5 tetras and 1 lazy janitor fish. (On the side I am still setting up aquasoil for their new tank.)
Also, what essentials should I have for my loach, the tetras, and the janitor fish?

I have 7 Khuli loaxhes in my 75 gallon community tank. It went 6 months before I saw one again. They love to hide in substrate and are extremely shy. They’re cool fish but dont expect them to hang out in the open lol. My substrate is essentially 1″ smooth river rock 2-3″ deep. They can slither into the smallest places. My biggest one is nearly as thick as a sharpie now so I do get to see him fromntime to time as its difficult for him to slither into a new hiding spot lol
