Got out on the pelican yesterday and man oh man lol. First off, i accidentally left my seat at home, so I used the cooler until my son brought the seat an hour later. I had banked fished prior to decided to go back for the boat to hit a new location. While walking to the first spot, I dropped the breaking adjustment section of one of my reels and didn’t notice it until I picked it up to cast it. Fortunately I found it while waking back to my truck. ( hold this thought).
Fast forward an hour and I’m out on my boat. Within 10 minutes I hook up with the first boat fish. As soon as I set the hook, I hear something hit the side of the boat followed by the sound of it falling into the water. I look down to see that my Apple Watch is no longer on my arm. I’m like How TF did it fall off. It has never just fallen off in the 8 -10 years that I’ve had it.
Oh well, life happens, it was time for a new one any way.
Anyway, I continue to catch a few more, my son brings me the seat and I fish a little more before changing locations. Once I get to the new location, I get the boat off of my truck, load my gear and get ready to start fishing. I walk back to the truck to get my life vest, no life vest. I left the life vest on the ground at the other spot. SMDH. I’ve never left my vest before lol.
At this point, I’m not going back to get it because that means I have to load up the entire boat again just to go back. So I fish the area, catch one bass and after about 45 minutes I’m ready to call it a day. Before leaving I decide to use the swim bait that is connected to the Reel that I lost the part on earlier because I hadn’t finished it at the last location while bank Fishing. I picked the rod up, make sure that the cover is locked into place, make my first cast and the side piece falls off again and goes into the water along with the spool, lol. I quickly grab the spool, snap the line and hand retrieve the swim bait. At this point, it’s time to go lol.
Once I get the boat back on the truck I returned to the last spot and sure enough the vest it right on the ground.
Moral of the story is, sometimes you have to sacrifice for the things that you love. Lol
