I have a 29 gallon that currently has 6 harlequin rasboras, 6 ember tetras, 4 nerite snails, a healthy sprinkling of very small ramshorn snails (being scooped oit and put into the dedicated snail tank constantly), and now 8 blue eye rainbowfish. I have no nitrates because my plants are using them all up now that they are growing like crazy finally (tissue cultures planted 2nd week of September). Even after introducing the rainbowfish I am still not getting any readable nitrates so im wondering if I'd be able to introduce another grouping of 4 to 8 nano fish. Or if I should just go with shrimp instead. I also will be setting up a 15 gallon eventually I have a back up if it fails but im curious what others think. I really liked rummy nose tetras. Or a green tetra or rasbora. It wouldn't be for a couple months regardless but I like planning in advance

You should get like 10 more
Id say you should be upping your current schools as theyre literally the bare minimum. Id say get your schools up to 10 of each and call it a day.
Hey there!
As a general rule, you can keep 1 inch of fish every gallon of water. The rest is up to you 😀
I also think you should get some more of the ones you already have. May I suggest some bottom dwelling fish like corydora catfish? You now have many that swim around but none that are ground-dwelling
