Hi there, I have had my boy Kia for three months. He is in a planted 30 litre tank. I got back from a weekend away to find this on his face and him incredible sad. I am scared. I can only get my water tested tomorrow at the pet shop as I dont have my own testing kit. I did a 50% water change and added prime and bacteria liquid. What else can I do? I am scared for him.

Do you have a hospital tank? I’d remove him and put him in a separate space to avoid more ammonia
How long ago did you notice the black spot (as in, just now/today or yesterday/some days ago)? Does it seem to be spreading or is it only on his face and nowhere else? Do you happen to have any pictures of what he looked like before? Also it’s a bit hard to see but does the discoloration in his face look dark grey with a metallic sheen?
