I fortunately spent quite a bit more time this year on the waters of Upstate NY than in previous years do to a change in my work schedule. Small streams, small rivers, ponds were all on the agenda this year. I primarily used a 3wt 10ft nymphing rod, but one memorable moment was bushwhacking 6 miles to a secluded lake and finding a canoe on the shore, and used it with a 5wt 9ft and a size 16 Royal Wolf to great success.
