Im looking for a baitcaster to throw swim baits glide baits and just heavier baits in general for mainly bass fishing. I’ve looked at the Daiwa Tatula 200 and the Shimano Curado 200k and 300k and was wondering which to get. Any recommendations are helpful, thanks.

  1. Justabakingbear on

there is no clear best at this price point. the daiwa tatula 200 is a solid platform. i like it enough that i own several. the curado is a solid reel that will also serve you well. between the two it really is personal preference, magnetic braking vs centrifical braking, do you like the palm feel of one better than the other that kind of thing.

  2. How heavy is heavy?

The standard Curado feels fine till 2oz and max out at 3oz, after that i would go to MD versions or different reels.

Above 3oz up to 6oz i use Shimanos Calcutta Conquest (not in the budget) or Abu Garcias Revo Toro Beast wich could be within your budget.
