Ive been wanting more plants. Like.. enough to not even see the back of the tank. But Ive tried having Amazon sword plants in here, and they do not thrive like my anubias. My parameters are basically perfect, my main issue being my water is on the harder side. I top off with distilled, and water changes include a bit of distilled too. As much as I try, the water stays hard. Maybe thats why the swords didnt do so well? But yea, if anyone can recommend me any plants that can last my biochemical lands pls lmk 🙏

  1. I kept having the same issue, so I decided to change my substrate to sand on top of topsoil. My plants seem happy, but my pleco likes to dig into it and disrupted the soil so much to the point I couldn’t see into it😭So Idk if I would recommend that method, but the substrate could be the issue.

I also had floating water lettuce at one point, but the roots and leaves kept melting and falling into my tank covering the bottom of it so I gave up on them😅
