Just adding here in the comments – it likely is not due to the open space in the center. Two days before this clip, I had a large bush/wall of Rotala & Ludwigia in the center, and they still displayed this behavior.
I suppose it’s more in the back, so maybe that could be part of it

I’ve read it’s normal? After the nest is established and has eggs the male will wig out if they see the female even if they’re on the other side of the tank
