Not sure how far up the rod the tip snapped but it seems to be a decent amount, probably 5-6 inches. Is the clarus that good? Its pretty cheap considering this rod would be $100 new but not sure how good it would be repaired

  1. No way dude, that things cooked. I wouldn’t take it for free. You’re better off buying a cheaper non broken rod with that money.

    I have that rod as a backup 2 piece. It actually has an odd action and is overly stiff for its weight. I’m 100% Shimano fan but not that rod. Better choices out there for less

  3. Definitely not worth even for $10. I am surprised that this is not just happening in my nearby store only. I have previously seen this year they are putting broken rods at clearance for 30-40% off. Even if you are a rod builder, there’s always far more better options out there so don’t know who would buy those. 

  4. No. Ugly stick as $100 rods on sale for $50 and a code that brings it down to $40. Check them out.
