Here’s an update of my 90p aquascape!
I just flooded 12/1 and was able to drop the ammonia and nitrite levels enough so I can comfortably plant some stem plants.
I’ll be propagating the stem plants and trimming the carpet while I let the water parameters settle.
Some changes:
– increased lighting to 6hrs a day with CO2 at ~2-3 BPS
– added an Oase skimmer 600 but had to 3D print a new outflow for it because it was shooting straight down and disrupting the sand. Now it shoots clockwise with the current flow of the filter.
– just found out aquasoil is magnetic so I’m cleaning the sand with a telescoping magnet from Harbor Freight lol
My goal is to add fish around Christmas time (hopefully there’s some holiday deals) but I currently have 8 Neptune Medakas (Japanese rice fish), 25 Blue Diamond Neocaradina shrimp, and 10 CPDs (gonna get 5 more) ready to go in once it’s cycled.
