I’ve taken to watering my houseplants with the water I remove from my 5 gallon tanks during a water change..
(no medicines or aquarium salt in the tanks )

Do you all think this is a good idea or will cause problems ?

Yes! All my plants went crazy after I started doing this. Be sure to get as much of the mulm into the water as you can. If you don’t know what mulm is, it’s the gross stuff that builds up on the substrate in your tank, decaying plant matter, fish poop, etc

  2. Yes, it’s actually great for house plants as well as outdoor plants. All the nitrates and fish doots are great fertilizer. I have been doing this for years and the plants love it.

Old tank waters good. Even better is all the crud out of your filter. Squeeze your sponges into a bucket and give it to your plants. Better than any plant food out of a bottle

Haha I call it liquid gold! My plants LOVE IT! Like have gotten huge! Just try to rotate which plants get it so they only get the liquid gold once or twice a month. I even give some to my mom and mil lol we all have stunning plants

  5. Absolutely, my weekly water change has significantly enhanced my wife’s plants after I started using those to water her plants weekly. Now she tells me actively which plants need the water weekly 😂
