I bought this 2 years ago to learn bait casters but kept getting blowouts. Not sure to keep it or sell it. Is it worth keeping ?

Just keep it and keep trying if you are having issues with backlash try and watch a tutorial on how to set the tension and breaks and also make sure you are using appropriately sized baits for that reel.if you are using baits that are too light it increases backlashes so maybe try heavier weights.
