Is it normal that he never flairs even at his reflection? I just know it's a good form of enrichment so want to make sure he's ok.

  1. 30 gal with 11 cardinal/glolite tetra, 6 corys, 4 kuhli loaches, and 10 shrimpys. At 78F with half HOB stream blocked and air stone in that half of tank (corys love it) so left side is still and right has a bit of flow. 0ppm ammonia, 0ppm nitrite, 5ppm nitrate and 7.4 pH.

  2. Some bettas just don’t flare lol 😆 if you want to try to see him flare try to put something black up to the tank glass infront of him. Bettas don’t like the color black for some reason

My boy only flared at me once. Pretty sure I just scared him, lol. But it’s possible depending on their personality, my male is super laid back and really curious since I assume he didn’t have the best vision before he started to get diamond eye. He can still see btw! While my girl definitely flares if I upset her even the slightest, like accidentally touch her and she gets super mad about it lmfao.

Mine only started fairing after 3 months. He was in a tank with cardinal tetras and they lived happily together and then one day he started fairing at them all the time. I ended up separating them.
