Betta Fish: Got my first Betta yesterday. He’s absolutely beautiful, I haven’t been able to get any photos that truly do him justice yet. I need some name ideas!

He was a slight impulse buy, I've been planning to get one for months but my current tank is 4.2 gallons and too small.
Yesterday I got my second tank (18 gallons) set up and went to a LFS for some plants and I saw him and I couldn't say no him. I know my current tank is too small, but it's still larger than the tank he was at at the store (The tanks at this LFS aren't massive, but they still provide space to swim, rest and hide, it's not cups or anything like that) so I figured instead of placing him on hold I'll bring him back and keep him in my shrimp/snail tank until his forever home is ready.

He seems to be settling in really well! He has been glass surfing a bit but he's mostly foraging around the tank and vibe checking the snails.

At the moment I've got frozen brine shrimp as his food, will he be okay on this or does he need pellets as well?
