no fish yet, still doing a cycle (i’m on day 4). How does it look so far? Too many plants or just right? I plan on putting a male betta in here. i also have some floating plants coming in the mail and i plan on adding some floating hides as well!

it’s not too visible in that image, but it does have a filter and heater as well! temperature is at about 79
Not too many plants, no such thing as too many imo ^^
However the anubias and java fern (all the broad leafed plants except the tallest 2) pull the rhizomes (part between stem and roots) out of the substrate. The rhizome will rot if left buried. I see one anubias is tied to a piece of wood(mid right), use wood/decor, or rocks to anchor their roots, they will latch on in time.
Its a good start! For a betta consider putting a strip of sponge filter foam over the outflow of your filter to make the flow more gentle.
