On December 2, my daughter fell in love with this betta at a pet store, and because I had a tank coming in later that week, I let her take him home.
Over the next 12 days, he has really transformed. He has started to heal and grow back the fins damaged from fin rot, and his dorsal fin, which had a very defined crimp in it, is starting to straighten out. He is translucent in indirect light, and very iridescent under direct lighting. His coloring changes, ranging from a shimmery turquoise to a deep navy. I’ve named him Monet, after Claude for the painterly, impressionistic vibe he gives off.
The only label on the cup he was sold in was “Delta Tail”. Some people have since told me he may be a super delta, a half moon, or a marbling color type betta. It doesn’t matter much to me, because he’s beautiful with a great temperament. But I would love feedback.
