Hello,
I got my male Betta a few month ago and He was very actively swimming and eating and I may have overfed him (around 15 Pellets a day – is this already overfeeding?). Now He has deleveloped pineconing and just lays around in a leafe at the top of the Tank.
I have him an 10-15m epsom Salt bath (1 tea spoon of epsom Salt for 2 Liter if water) two days ago, which made him defecate and losen some bloating.
I would like to know if it's best to do another Salt bath, or leave him be and recover, and if the dropsy was due to my overfeeding?
Thanks

30l tanksize
Heater and Filter yes both
26 degrees
Testung strip, all Parameters fine (Nitrat, Nitrit, etc all fine)
Fisch and tank for about 4 month
Water change Every week 40%
No tankmates, some small snails come.in some of the plants and stayed
15 Pellets a day feed
lots of Different plants, but Tank is small
15 pellets is way too many. Feed roughly the amount of their eye. Or rather, feed them a couple of pellets and what they can’t eat within two minutes, remove from the tank.
Overfeeding can contribute to Dropsy yes, it comes from poor water quality. Dropsy is a sign of organ failure so at this point you may be better off putting your fish out of its misery unfortunately. Epsom salts probably won’t do anything more for you in this situation since the pine coning has already begun.
