Do Little Yellow Sally stoneflies actually crawl out of the water to emerge, or can they hatch from the water surface?
I’ve heard conflicting explanations. Charlie Craven says they don’t crawl out onto rocks/banks, but I’ve also heard they emerge in the water like mayflies. Curious if this varies by species or if one explanation is more accurate. What’s been your experience on the water?
