I got him yesterday and it’s my first fish. I think he looks fine but a bit active. Even without the mirror he was swimming all around the tank. I thought bettas are top-dwelling? It’s been 24 hours and he’s still swimming everywhere. He even swam under the rocks (I didn’t even know there was a route there).
Also does he look like a Delta? Thought I got a Plakat at first but chatgpt says otherwise.

He looks great! Just make sure not to leave the mirror in more than around 5 minutes or so. May be best to wait a bit before using it, given he’s still new it could be stressing him out.
Edit: actually on a closer look it looks like he may have diamond eye. It’s hard to tell with the video. Certain morphs of Betta have scales grow over their eyes, it looks like your guy has had that happen. It makes them partially blind so it can be a bit harder to find food. In the video he seems to be swimming and seeing ok.
