Building some lures after my first season and trying to refine the hardware. I've got these Techset Siwash Open Eye from VMC.
I wanted to put these on some 10g/15g spoons for salmon but the package specifically says "for use without split rings".
The eye is too small to put on any lure holes I have, but it can fit on a split rings okay. Its not as free to move as a big open eye siwash.
Just trying to pair the ideal hardware to the spoons.

They’re to be tied directly to the line.
Is it not a trailer hook? Looks like it attaches to another hook
The reason for the open eye is so you can crimp them directly on a hook hanger (the wire loop that a split ring would normally attach to) without the need for a split ring. It sounds like you’re trying to use them on a spoon where the hole is drilled directly through the spoon body (i.e. there is no hook hanger) and the gap of the siwash hook is not large enough to fit? In that case I’d use a split ring and just crimp the siwash hook on the split ring. It’s not like they *won’t* work with split rings, they’re just designed to not *need* split rings.
