Hi guys! Can anyone tell me what these small bubbles are? I did a 30ish% water change last night in hopes that they would go away but they haven’t. My ammonia levels are still quite high (not sure why. I thought the water change would help). Thank you for any help!

Protein film or something.
You can use a kitchen towel to soak up the surface film, or get a filter with a surface skimmer.
There is not really a lot of info to go of in this post, more pictures of the setup and tank would be helpful. Could be food, waste or plant material stuck under the substrate that is creating this problem. This happens a lot with sand substrate, but can also happen with other substrate.
