my tank just started leaking out of nowhere. i got a new tank stand and my theory is it couldnt handle the weight. it was a 9 gallon with gravel substrate. it also broke at 1 am so i cant get a new tank until morning. i’m panicking. i got all the fish out and they’re in a bucket with their heater and the filter media. i couldn’t save all my shrimp, i couldn’t catch them all. the tank is sitting in my shower, still draining. my shrimp will die. i dont have any air stones and my tank was the fluval flex 9 gallon so the only filter i have seems too strong. for the home depot bucket. i dont know what to do. i might have to surrender everyone because the tank stand can only support 100 pounds and im terrified this will happen again. i feel so distraught. i dont know what to do. i dont know if i should get a new tank. i love my fish and this hobby but i dont know what to do. i cant think straight. i’m so heartbroken.

  1. Qual a espessura do vidro? Aquário de sump já tem suas peculiaridades, por trazer fluxos distintos e em movimentações opostas em pouco tempo.

    Como vi alguns baldes, tenta fazer assim: separa três baldes. Em um, você coloca seus peixes e em outro você coloca sua bomba e termostato. No último, coloque as mídias. tenta cortar uma mangueira em três partes iguais e faz um fluxo de um balde para o outro. Faz da seguinte maneira:
    A1 = Peixes;
    A2 = Bomba e Termostato;
    A3 = Mídias

    Coloque a mangueira nos três e tente fazer o fluxo mecânico em instantes. O fluxo seguirá assim: A2 → A1 → A3 → A2…

    Para fazer o fluxo, basta fazer como a gente faz com o sifão. Importante manter os três no mesmo nível de altura e de água.

    First and foremost, you are in no way a bad fish/shrimp keeper and you have done the absolute best you can do in this moment. All your fish are good in the bucket and it hurts but even being able to save a few shrimp is better than none.

    They will be fine in a bucket for a day/until you’re able to get a new tank. If you are unable to buy a new tank a plastic storage bin, large bucket or something like that can absolutely work as a makeshift tank, some people even use these as permanent ‘tanks’ for fish breeding.

    As for the stand you can always put your tank/aquarium container on the floor with a mat or piece of wood or something of the like. It’s certainly not a long term solution and not the best if you have dogs or cats but it can work!

    I know how you feel right now, I’ve made many a mistake that unfortunately was to the detriment of my shrimp. It’s absolutely devastating and I’ve broken down thinking I was the worst person in the world and that I should just give up on the hobby completely. It’s not your fault that either the tank or the stand was faulty, you had no way of knowing until this happened. You’ve done everything you can and I know you’re a wonderful fish keeper because you care deeply for your animals.

    Sorry for the long paragraphs, I hope you get everything sorted and please don’t be too hard on yourself! Sending you and your shrimp and fish lots of love <3
