This is on my new UL setup I recently bought myself. the reel is new and the line is new. I recently had just spooled it on 3 days ago; I used the Yo-Zuri Hybrid “Clear” 4lbs test mono.
I’m confused because the discoloration is on the whole spool. I thought it was dirt, but when I went to go wash it off at the sink, it wouldn’t come off.
I guess it’ll help keep my line more invisible, but I’m worried if it’s the dirt within the spool and if it’ll ruin my line or reel in longevity. Should I put new lines on?
you reckon this is nothing to be worried about?
Also I caught a heck ton of perch and bluegigis.
I’m using Daiwa Laguna 1000 and 6ft BPS micro lite, pretty happy about my purchase, I would’ve gone for a 6’6” or 7’ instead though

Had they just dyed the pond?
Weird. I’d just switch to braid and tie on a flouro or mono leader if I were you. Has to be something with the water though.
Maybe the water has tannins or iodine
Really the only time I have that probably is if I’m fishing really dirty water but that’s really bad
