Got this fish a few days ago. He doesn’t appear to be very smart. I fed him the first day when he was still in the cup , I’ve tried feeding him most days since then and he just doesn’t pay attention. I’ll do it when he’s at the top and do it in front of him but he just swims away the it sinks. I have the Fluval bug bites. I’m worried if he’s not gonna be eating. He’s in a ten gallon but I still have the cup I got him in. Should I put him in the cup during feeding time and put him back after he eats? Water not dirty it’s clean

Hes getting acclimated to the new tank- its a bit stressful to him – they will not eat much for now .
Hope theres a heater and filter in the tank .
Keep as many plants and cover as possible.
Give him some time and he should be back to normal
My new betta needed 5 days to start eating.
It can take awhile for a fish to adjust to its new home, much like any other pet. Try a variety of foods to see if he has a preference! I used to own a betta that only liked live food (could also be frozen but I had to wiggle the hell out of it lol)
I wouldn’t switch him to the cup personally . A move is a lot of stress so he could just be adjusting to new surroundings but there is a comment above mine suggesting trying a different kind of food and I will second that . I have two betas and they both prefer different types of food and absolutely hate the others preference so maybe he’s just a picky boy . I will say my one guy was practically non existent for the first like 5 days because he was just scared now he knows he’s king so just try to be patient . Best of luck☺️
It took my new guy, Winston, about a week before he came out of hiding.
Now fatty is the 1st to the top of the tank when I open the lid.
