Have never fished for Crappie before, usually I target Walleye and Perch. What kind of structure/depths do Crappie like? Do I need to chase them like perch? Heading to this local spot in a few weeks since it's one of the few local lakes with Crappie on the area. What kind of bait presentations will Crappie eat?

Crappie love underwater trees maybe 8-10 ft. They can be unpredictable sometimes, they’ll come up in a big school like perch, look at your jig for a while and then swim away. But the success I’ve had with crappie are on tungsten jigs with a nib of crappie dough on the hook.

You can always find crappie just hanging out in basins / deepest part of the lake. If you can find some structure they love that too
