So I’ve been experimenting with rods for mid strolling and I feel like I’m missing something. Every pro is talking about short extra fast rods for shaking a minnow I started out throwing them on basically the opposite had great luck a 7,4 medium light team6 rod. I had great luck can launch the bait a mile I can stall it out and still shake it never lost fish. But as it grew and more people talked about it i heard every one talk about short extra fast rods so i tried it there’s I had was a Ned rig rod for me a gloomis flex 802 jwr so a 6,8 medium, extra fast rod threw my normal rig had a really hard time feeling what the bait was doing had a hard time making that bait rock and lost a fish that I normally wouldn’t. I have tried it with larger baits thinking it is a medium so a little stiff maybe I’m just over powering my baits and I’m a little better off but I just keep going back to basically stiff hair big rods, am I alone ?

  1. Honestly bro, if it works for you, keep doing it. Most of the guys talking about it use it almost exclusively with their FFS
