The total depth is about 16ft, but there’s something between 15-10ft, and I have no idea what it is
I’m completely new with depth finders, so some help would be great.
My guess is either a school of crappie, or weeds

Maybe log, maybe nessy. I ask the captain all of the time and he never has any answers.

Could be a rope, branch, or a ( rope like) cluster of algae rising up off the bottom. Put a hook in it and report back

Probably weeds. Drop a bait down and you’ll find out quick haha

Bait fish or a big fish moving down and away from you .

I think you need to mess with the settings a bit. What you’re seeing below 10’ looks like “noise” to me. What kind of bottom do you have in that area? Mud, sand, rock?? I’m not familiar with Garmin settings but I am a hydrographic surveyor. I think the power and gain are too high. Is there an auto gain setting?

Honestly, nothing bears time on the water to learn electronics. I have been fishing for years and still have questions on what I’m seeing though. Over time you will learn what a Mark is on the graph and what are good spots
