Took me about 20 minutes to just get these photos, sorry they aren't better quality, he wouldn't stay still long enough. Got this little dude from our LFS over the summer and I don't recall seeing the white stuff at the time.
I wish I could remember specifically when we noticed it but it's been a handful of months now, however, within the last month it seems like it exploded in size. The very last photo is from the end of last month. Fish still seems to be acting fine though as far as I can tell.
Every time I try to Google search it, results just give me ich which I don't think this is?
Any suggestions are appreciated.

It could be a tumour; try giving a salt bath
tumour for sure i think. sometimes they are benign, dont effect quality of life much, or even fall off. other times they can be cancerous, spread onto organs, or grow to press against organs and cause pain or difficulty moving at which point youd have to euthanize them. if their behaviour is all normal and no signs of pain are present then you can go about your days.
refusal to eat/swim, laying on the bottom, gasping, or lethargy are the symptoms you’re looking out for. always try a broad range treatment in an oxygenated hospital tank before deciding on euthanasia, since they may just have a treatable bug rather than it being tumour complications
Dragonscale varieties are prone to tumors. I will always opt for the most boring looking betta from now on. Every feature they get bred for seams to mess them up.
