I’m currently learning the tough lesson that betta ownership is a lot more than I realized… I guess there’s a misconception that bettas can just live in a tiny bowl and they’re good. I’ve been proven very wrong, and I’m so glad I found this sub. My 3 gallon tank is too small I realize, and I only have fake plants right now. Heater for the tank is coming tomorrow (as I just realized bettas need one). Anyway, introducing Stevie, who was a Christmas gift for my son who loves marine life. I’m dedicated to learning and giving this little guy the best life I can!

i’m currently learning too, there’s been some really
helpful people on the post i just made less than an hour ago that can explain things better than i can!

  2. Make sure you research the nitrogen cycle of a fish tank. You’ll need a liquid water teat kit like the api master test kit or even the imagitarium version. This graph will help you once you have the test kit to know when you need to and how much water to change based on the different levels but as far as the PH goes, just test it to make sure it stays stable. Mainly worry about the other levels. Also make sure you are dechlorinating the water every time you add some.
