I came across the Yong Special when looking up midge patterns and thought “that looks like bullshit”. So I tied a few in size 22 and 24. It’s just so simple.
So after a slow start on my local tailwater I. Decided to tie one on. HOLY COW, not only did I start hooking up
Immediately but they were aggressive hits. Everything from little guys, a couple suckers and a few bigger guys. Only drawback was a bunch of lost fish I think due to the tiny hook size.

Congrats! It’s still hard to get my head around tiny midges and big fish. It seems too light to pull the leader under. Were you using split shot?
What’s the body material?
