Hi! I was told I had a heater in the tank, turns out I didn’t, I just got this one, do I keep the fish in while I put it in? Sorry i’ve tried to look it up and nothing will come up.

additional info: I have had this baby for a few days now, he doesn’t share the tank, and I was told this heater is good for the size of tank

Yes, keep the fish in. Put it in, make sure it is in the water to the minimum level and plug it in. How big is your tank?

You need to acclimate the heater. Place it in the tank for 30 minutes unplugged and then plug it in. Once plugged in never take it out before it cools. Most important with glass heaters but you can damage them if you don’t let it adjust to the air vs water temps
