technically my second, but the first one was with 6lb braid/4lb fluoro so it's hard to see. assuming it's not much different than this though

Definitely need to keep practicing. There should be no gaps between wraps and try to keep tension consistent top to bottom.
Tie 10 more then come back with another photo.

Switch to Alberto. Way better. Much easier. Very strong.

Looks like you didn’t maintain tension on either line while you tied. Consider getting an FG Assist tool. They work great and keep your line tight. On a side note, FG is a bit overkill for the line size you describe. The FG knot is supposed to “grab” into the mono or fluoro as you pull tight, like those Chinese finger locks. 4lb test isn’t going to bite as good as say 30 lb used for pelagics. I recommend you just tie a uni to uni and make you leader a length that you won’t be winding through your eyelets.

FWIW I think simpler knots are fine for ultralight setups, the line is thin enough that the knot doesn’t make a huge difference.
But ya your spacing is a bit inconsistent but you finished your knot off better than I do it so hey hey!

It looks like you didn’t tighten it. The braid and leader should bite into each other. Once you tie it you have to tighten it by using a lot of force on both sides of the line. Then you tie a few more knots to finish it off. The tightening is very important.
