We saw 6 really unhealthy beta today and debated not buying them so Petco can track the “demand” and adjust inventory accordingly. We couldn’t just leave them so we got them discounted and I’m considering writing corporate for how many of them had stages of tail rot and other issues. We picked the worst ones (photos shown) but left some at the store who were recoverable but hurting. We gave them an epson bath, fresh water (reverse osmosis then remineralized), aquarium salt, and very low dose of antibiotics. Anubias in their tanks. We keep our plant room warm so the water temp is good in their room. We fed them bloodworms and they ate. They look stressed but are not gasping for air and they can swim normally, no side floaters. I’m really worried about them still. Hopefully they will pull through and I can share glow up photos. One female has such bad bloat she sits back on her bottom fin. The other female has bloat and gills inflamed from ammonia maybe. The paradise dorsal fin is completely rotted off. Both the galaxy and tangerine koi are emaciated. Any tips or hope please 🙏
