So I have been keeping fish for about a year it started with a predator pond but I have had this guppy planted tank for about 3-4 months. I was exploring a new fish shop to satisfy my addiction and HAD to buy this female betta. I want to know if this is bad husbandry and if she is ok in this community. There are 3 mature female guppies and like 6-8 babies( don’t know gender yet). 2 algae eaters and a good bit of neocardina shrimp. I know that’s a lot of livestock but water parameters are very consistent even without frequent water changes and they will soon be moved to a 30 gallon aquarium. Any advice or tips will be very helpful.

  1. i think its a good tank an okay stocking wise, you have alot of hiding spots for them an enough space for their own territory’s

My girl came from a community tank and seems to like living in one now. She has her own established territory, and the guppies know to give her space when she needs it. They all come to the top to eat together and don’t fight over food. I think it mostly just depends on temperament and your ability to keep the tank appropriately planted, stable, and fed.

no it’s densely planted with broken up lines of sight, looks very good
just watch out for aggression over next few days/weeks (both from betta towards guppies and for guppies nipping bettas fins!) but she doesn’t look too bothered from this video

there is nothing wrong with your tank, it’s well planted and many female bettas get along with other fish. of course you still have to watch closely in case some fish becomes aggressive and then separate, that’s how it is in all community tanks so it’s normal
