  1. A good tip, betta water is a scam. Just get a proper aquarium water conditioner and just use your tap water (read instructions on the water conditioner before treating the tap water and before adding to the tank)

really consider getting a bigger tank (which is not round), apart from that look into getting some live plants – if you get some driftwood with anubias attached or add some anubias to it it will help keep the water quality better by soaking up nitrates. is it cycled? do you have a water testing kit?

Hi I think your mom has good taste with decorating the tank. I like that the fish has lots of big leaves spread throughout the tank to rest on, I would suggest considering adding some live plants, anubias are pretty hardy plants you can pick them up at any pet store, I would also suggest frog bit which is another hardy plant but this one floats. Live plants will help keep the water cleaner as they will absorb nutrients from the fish waste and from important bacteria in the tank.

Please do some research on cycling a fish tank, you can take a sample of your tank water to just about any pet or fish store and they will test your water for you and give you advice on what to do based on the results. If you dont have a heater already make sure to pick one up, most of them will be pre-set to 78° farenheit which is perfect for bettas. Make sure you get a thermometer too so you can check the temperature occasionally and make sure the heater is working how it should.

For food I’ve heard good things about bug bites betta pellets personally I am a fan of new life spectrum betta pellets. I’d also suggest frozen live food brine shrimp/blood worms

Yeah betta water isnt a thing. They do like soft water though (water with low Ph)

    It looks really nice though
