Meet Jackie, my new Betta fish.

It has been 4 days since he became my new roommate. The first 2 days he barely moved and mostly stayed in one spot, which had me a little worried. Now he is way more active, swimming around and checking everything out, so I think he is finally settling in.

I am new to betta keeping, so tips and advice from experienced betta owners are very welcome. Anything you wish you knew when you started, please share.
Thanks!

Hey! I’m a new betta keeper as well! I don’t really know much but I do know that literally everyone on this community is SO helpful and (sometimes) nice. If you have any specific questions, I would ask u/apprehensive_one4016 he is like a mod but nicer. He doesn’t have a betta but he knows a lot about them. I’m sure he’s gonna pop into this post soon anyway though.

Heeeeey guys I’m here haha! I might have an answer!

So depending on your tank setup and how you acclimated your little buddy he could have just been very stressed from the big change from his cup into a nice big tank!

If he’s eating and exploring, and not looking lethargic (clamped fins [doesn’t look like it], laying on the floor, randomly just floating [for like 10 minutes they naturally float for a few seconds without movement]) then he’s probably fine!

If you give me more details I could help more!
