Betta Fish: Meet ROOTBEER! My alien Samurai

Hi this is ROOTBEER, had him for maybe 2.5 months now, my first step into wild types as it’s hard to get them here in Canada.

I know his name is weird so let me know if you’ve got better/any suggestions!I was literally craving Rootbeer so that’s what he’s been called lol.

However, I do wonder if he needs more tannins as most sources say Blackwater setups, which this is but it’s missing the “black” in blackwater, no matter how many boiled Alder cones and botanicals I add..
But I think he’s happy he doesn’t show stress stripes or anything! But some days he’s grumpy and will flare at me if he wants food lol!
