My friends and I went to a lake to try and fish for the first time and while my friend tried figuring out how to cast….the whole reel was in the water and when he got it back it looked like this. I couldn't find the black part of the drag anywhere else or where it could even be. I feel like my rod is defective or something, it's a travel kit from Walmart..G2X. I dont know how this could have happened because I was the one who noticed the reel was off first, I realized that we had our bail closed the entire time but what do I do now? I want to fix this ASAP, the reel comes right off.

Yeah not gonna work like that. Contact warranty support and see if they can help you out.
You are missing the drag knob that goes on top of the reel. You might have bought it without knowing it was missing
