Hi! I’m new to the hobby and I’ve been a very paranoid new fish mom. I got my betta (Benny) from petsmart about a week ago. When I got him he had this little black lining on the end of his tail. It’s still here and does not seem to be growing as far as I can tell. (Images attached)
I’m pretty sure the clear/orange ends on his fins are new growth which I know will get more pigmented.
Bennys super curious about his tank (10gal) and explorative. He’s really active and loves his new bubbler. There aren’t really any behavioral indications of illness that I’ve noticed.
I’ve seen a few pictures of red veiltails with similar coloring have some black along their tailfins, is this is normal and he’s just gaining more coloring or should I be worried? Thank you for any help or suggestions!!

okay so chat gpt said it looked like fin rot from the fourth picture but said that it looks like it’s early stage which is very treatable
