Lost my sweet boy Crafty today. He had cancer and kept going downhill and last night he couldn't get the energy to eat his food I brought to him.
I used the clove oil method and thankfully it was fairly peaceful for him. It took around an hour total and I went really slow, but he never seemed to be in any pain and the only time he "thrashed" was at the very end when his body did the final twitches that all animals do. My mom let me bury him in one of her favorite plants.
He was the sweetest fish anyone couldve asked for, especially for a first time fish owner like I was. He would get excited to see me, curl up in my palm if I let him, and would eat off my fingers at dinnertime. He was the reason I fell in love with these little fish and eventually the hobby as a whole. He was around two to two and a half years old at his passing. I'm going to really miss him and it hurts like hell at the moment.
