I felt relief seeing this empty but I know they exist and the relief is coming from not having to look into their sad little eyes. I have lived here my whole life (also worked here as a teen) and never once saw the display empty. I always felt bad for the bettas in this specific petsmart bc they are directly next to the door and it gets colddddd where I live so I’m happy they aren’t forced to deal with that for now:).

Sometimes they move them to the back because it’s too cold near the door. That’s what they did at my petsmart…
Just gotta stop buying from there. Eventually they will lose enough money it won’t be worth it to get em
My display has been empty for months. At some point they moved them closer to the aquatics for the winter and just haven’t moved them back.
I grabbed 2 the other day. 1 Dragonscale and 1 Crowntail. Poor things both had fins so clamped they could barely move. I wish they at least had overhead planted cubes for these as temporary tanks instead of those cups.
