Ammonia: 0 Nitrites: 0 Nitrates ~40 (water change planned tomorrow!)

5 gallon planted tank, 2 sponge filters, and has been cycled and running for almost 9 months now. Only have neocaridina shrimp and some hitchhiker snails in it.

I haven’t noticed it growing anywhere else besides the cholla wood. I also have 2 other cycled tanks but neither of them have this.

I’m assuming it’s not harmful since my shrimp have all been fine, but I’m just curious to know what it could be if anyone could help me!

That’s an aquatic fungi? So interesting… and was the question about whether or not it’s harmful or not answered? I’m getting ready to set up a 55 gallon aquarium from
“Scratch” and one of the decorative items I want to try is cholla wood along with my other established living plants, so I’m trying to figure out exactly what I’m going to use. Is cholla wood best for shrimp tanks, or is there something they like better?
