upgraded from a 54l to a 65l:) last one is the old tank in its best condition (right after planting) – unfortunately 80% of the plants died 😅 so irl it looked much worse..
needed a 60x30cm tank for the stand. the new one is a part of a set.
i only bought the tank, that's why there's the plastic part at the back – I'm thinking of possibly using it for roots-only emersed plants! no idea which ones to pick though 😅
the old tank was very pretty but very cluttered and awful for plants. The endlers didn't have much room to swim… they're rapidly multiplying as well 😅
not to mention the 6(!!) bristle nose plecos i inherited from my mom.. and i already gave away 4… yes, there were 10 plecos in a 54l… I use two filters precisely for the waste management..
removed all the plastic decor and added much more driftwood! the plecos honestly seem much more content lol. the huge one is still trying to float though so the ugly rock needs to stay there 😆
NEED to get black background though- using this tacky wallpaper since the strawberry walls look damn awful 😆
asking for some tips though –
what are some hardy plants that don't dislike hard water? thinking of buying some cryptocoryne, echinodorus and java fern.
what about good emersed plants with an extensive root system ( i love how it looks )? I don't want them to be too high though..
also a dumb question but would buying a single filter with the same output as the two combined be a good idea? the plecos are proper poop machines but I'd like to have more swim space 😅
