This is our betta at work, I moved him into a 2.5 gal tank in October, I started in August. Have been regularly checking levels and keeping tank as clean as possible. His fins are looking weird and I’m not sure what’s happening. I think he ripped his tail in half but not sure how, he’s swimming normally, flaring at me when stimulated or when he sees me sometimes, eating normally, but he does like to suction himself to the intake vent at the back of his tank. Does his skin and do his fins look okay? Any advice is appreciated and helpful!
Also! He was COMPLETELY white when he was in the bowl, and we moved him to a tank with a filter and heater and he started getting color, is that normal??

2.5 gallon
Heater and filter yes
78 degrees
Don’t have numbers just the strips can submit pic
Tank has been operating since mid October and they’ve had him for months and months before that
Water change every two weeks as needed and I do 25-50 percent depending on levels and I cup out water, get replacement water ready and do a debris collection while I wait for it to condition and then put the new water in.
No tankmates
Feed him a mixture of 2 pellets (aqueon color enhancing) and two shakes of fluval bug bites every day.
He has two resting leaves, a bush looking thing, a log and a floating moss ball
First off yes, gaining color is very normal! That’s actually an indicator that he’s getting healthier and happier. His fin could’ve been caught by the intake as he was resting and it tore, but go ahead and treat him with Epsom salt and kanaplex, and feed plenty of good protein to help him heal!
