Accidentally slipped while feeding fish, too much fish food went into the tank, not sure what to do about it since it’s pretty hard to clean out with a cup

Id recommend buying a gravel vac or phython to syphon it out. You can also use airline tubing aswell.

Lay part of the tubing into the water, the outlet into your bucket (which is lower than your tank) Suck the bucket end to start the gravity fed syphon.

  2. If you have a net, the pellets will kick up before the sand will.

Gently swish in long strokes back and forth while keeping the back end of the net dragging.

Light particles will kick up and as your stroke net the lighter material.

I have a dirted/capped tank I used this method to put up random tidbits of wood/dirt material that comes through the sand from time to time.

  3. I’ll go along with everyone else here: get yourself a python (you can get a knockoff one that works great on AliExpress for way cheaper) you will need it going forward anyway if you really want to take good care of your tank. Once you get it working you’ll see it is indispensable.

    How big is the tank?

if it’s over 100l I wouldn’t worry about it, the filter will digest it.

  5. Do you have a long tube or hose? If you do you can use that to siphon out water and the extra food into a bucket.

  6. Get the fish out first. I believe if you agitate the sand a bit it will float up, which you can catch with a net or strainer
