During moving, due to space issue (mostly height, and yes I know bookshelf tank exists but those are over 2x more expensive than my entire current single 5G setup and I haven't got the money) I rehomed my old aquariums. But it felt weird and empty without a fish after being in the hobby before I hit double digits. So I set up a 5G with a rosetail betta. I'm too lazy to do any aquascaping so I just dumped in some java ferns, moss and floaters when I set it up. I haven't kept a long finned betta in years man those massive fins really weigh him down and his swimming looks depressing tbh. But at least it's easier to spot him in the cluttered tank. (I always have my betta tanks extremely cluttered with live plants). I named this one boreal as he comes in the icy winter and a betta imbellis I had few years ago already took the name Aurora.

Personally I intentionally make my betta tanks cluttered with plants no matter how big it is. As a kid I kept lots of paradise fish, which are native to my hometown, related to betta fish and similar in behaviour (except being a tad less aggressive). Those fish wouldn’t even look nice without a very heavily planted setup. I had similar experience with wild bettas as well. So I applied it to domestic bettas too despite their colours being less dependent on their environment.

Cluttered = betta heaven (plus kuhli loach and shrimp in this case). Nature isn’t organized.
