I have a 7’3 MH rod and I’m looking for a reel to pair it with. I was thinking about pairing it with an slx xt to mainly throw jigs. Is this a good pair? Thought on other reels? (As well I am new to the bait casting world and have used spinning reels my whole life)

A little more money, but i would recommend a Curado or a Diawa Tatula SV100
I have a Shimano TranX 201HG. It would do it down to 3/8oz, but it really shines throwing heavier. I’d say you’re on the right track here. If you can, bump up to the Curado. They’re “saltwater reels” meaning the insides are more corrosion resistant. It’ll just last you longer. If you can swing it go that direction.
This is a great starter. Use some 15lb line and some 1/2 oz jigs and learn how to use a baitcaster!
